Stewart Stimson, the creator of SB Scuba Defog, is a current PADI IDC Staff instructor. He created SB Scuba during his Divemaster Candidacy when he noticed that assisting instructors in the pool required multiple applications of defog between mask skills. As well, he was perplexed by the instructions on all the defog agents he used which required rinsing before use.

Never bStewart experimented with natural agents until he found the right mix that did not have any negative side effects for his eyes and would continue working through repetitive exposure to water. Once he found his perfect mixture he made a batch and used it exclusively for himself.

During a live aboard trip in the Galapagos, his secret formula was in such demand that the owner of Emerald Coast Scuba in Destin, FL asked for him to consider commercial production. SB Scuba Defog was born shortly thereafter.

Until recently, SB Scuba has only been available exclusively at four dive shops around the world, though the demand from instructor to instructor has grown rapidly and they have now reached production levels and agreement with retailers to open the product to a wider audience.
